TBT a tense moment for CHALK4PEACE, 2007

TBT 2007 While I was laying out the lettering for this sign in chalk that the owner of the building had okayed, on the Oakland/Emeryville border, I was stopped by two patrol cars and four policemen who
announced over their speaker, "Sir, put down the chalk and step away from the wall..." I turned around to see four cops in a line surrounding me, figuring they had busted a tagger in broad daylight. The one on my far left looked nervous and had his hand on his gun. I put my hands up and mentioned to the captain that I had authorization, posed no threat- and to please tell the officer on my far left to stand down.

It was a very tense moment...

...talk about having to find one's "Gandhi place" in a hurry... It fortunately ended well; and local students from Destiny Arts Center helped decorate our impromptu community billboard as CHALK4PEACE celebrated its second year as a global event...

Creativity for Peace holds another CHALK4PEACE event in Santa Fe...

Our friends at Creativity for Peace held another CHALK4PEACE event at the Santa Fe Railyard in New Mexico July 24. Their goal is to prepare the next generation of female leaders in Israel and Palestine. They are tireless, with endless enthusiasm and creativity; Creativity for Peace is making a major difference in the world. Thank you Frances Salles for all the work you and your team do to bring peace, love and understanding to the importance of female leadership.

Your support for our UN/DC fundraiser is helping us Draw The World Together!

Thank you! Gracias! Grazie! Merci! Our UN/DC events fundraising campaign has generated a couple of plane tickets, housing in NY, meals in DC, a mighty new website, cash and some chalk for our C4P: Drawing The World Together Tour. Your support is mighty!

We're about half way there in our costs to make this happen. We still need the following:

-Accomodations cash or miles for Washington DC housing for five nights.

-RT train tickets from NY to DC and back for our flight home.

-Subway, bus and cab fees for NY & DC.
